Am I Likey To Get A Higher Tax Refund By Doing Taxes Myself Or Having A Professional Do Them?

A Reader Asks…

I’m thinking of doing my taxes this year. I plan to buy Turbo Tax, and a book called 1001 Tax Deductibles and research which ones I am elegible for… but is it better for a professional to do it?

How Do I Rebuild My Credit Without Having Ever Had Any Credit Cards?

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

A Reader Asks…

I have never had a credit card, but I have a few small bills in collections from when I was in college. They are old utilities bills, together totalling no more than $150. I haven’t been able to access my credit report online due to many address changes, but how bad can I expect my credit to be? How can I rebuild it now? I know debts in collections stay on your credit for 7 1/2 years whether you pay them or not. Help!
